Embedded videos don’t play

  • Hi everyone,
    I have made what I thought was a simple wordpress site using the ‘folio’ theme. The home page consists of 11 embedded videos and 1 picture. Out of the 11 videos, only 2 play as they should. All the others show either a black screen or a fuzzy screen with the words “An error occurred, please try again later”. All the videos are from my own youtube or vimeo account, including the 2 which work. I have been racking my brains for hours now and can’t figure out what I am doing wrong! Any help would be much apreciated!

  • How are you embedding the videos? I saw the following error in my console: 'X-Frame-Options' to 'sameorigin' which means that the videos are not being properly embedded.

    Please embed the video correctly some time it happen if you are not logged in as administrator because script tag only administrator have privileges to add.

    Hi Wurpe, thanks for your reply. I am embedding the videos by adding a post, setting format to video and then adding url to the ‘youtube or vimeo url’ field. Is that not the correct way of doing it?

    Hi Hassan Ali, as far as I believe I am logged in properly and I am the only administrator of the site.

    Hmmm, that should work. Before I start telling you this is a plugin or theme issue can you try using the embed video code to add one of your videos? The embed code can be accessed by going to the YouTube video, clicking share, and then embed. Paste the entire code into the WordPress video section.

    Here’s the embed code for the top right video:

    Let’s first test with this one video. Let me know if it works.
