Embedding a link in the Registration Message

I want the user to navigate the contact us page if they do not have a valid empployee email address:

Registrations are permitted for employees only. When registering please use your xxxxxxxx employee email addresses.
If you do not have an employee email address, please contact us and let us know who you are and we will get you all set up.

The href does not take the url I pass it. It reformats it as https://lvcc.kbvegas.com/”https://lvcc.kbvegas.com/lvcc/contact-us/”
Which is obviously a bad address. The other html appears to format correctly. I’ve tried it with both single and double quotes with the same result.
