Embedpress is load slow

  • On my website we are implementing embedpress instead of another company’s pdf viewer.
    We are experiencing that the pdf’s loads slow. Is there a way to speed up that proces a bit?

    Hello djdavit1990,

    Thank you so much for sharing the details with us. I have visited the URL that you shared. I found that not only that page, but also all the pages are loading slowly. Please check this screencast: https://d.pr/i/562ZJt . Due to loading the whole content from the page properly, it takes the time to show the PDF also. So, it seems that this issue is not happened due to our plugin only. Will you please tell me if you are using any caching plugins on your website?

    However, I have tested by embedding the pdf on our local test platform and It is working fine here. I didn’t find any slow loading issue.

    Please, do a plugin conflict test. You can check for Plugin conflicts by deactivating all the third-party plugins one by one except for EmbedPress. Simply go to your WordPress Dashboard and navigate to wp-admin -> Plugins and then, deactivate other Plugins.

    I have wprocket on my site as a cache plugin, as the site without would make our users go away.
    I am moving to your plugin, and we have over 300 pdf’s on our site.

    Thanks for letting us know the update. Actually, this issue is not only happened on the page where there is EmbedPress pdf. You overall site is showing slow. We have tried with your pdf also on our end but didn’t find any issue.

    Will you please deactivate the WP Rocket plugin and then check if that resolves your issue? Despite using WP Rocket, issue could be happened due to several reasons i.e. lazy loading configuration. WP Rocket may be set to lazy load iframes and media, which delays the loading of the EmbedPress section.

    To resolve this issue, please check WP Rocket’s settings for lazy loading and try excluding the EmbedPress iframes from lazy loading.

    You can monitor the performance using tools like GTmetrix or, Pingdom to find out the reason of the issue.

    By following these steps, you should be able to identify and investigate the causes of slow loading for the EmbedPress pdf on your website.

    If i deactivate wprocket – The site will be extreme slow. Google insight can verify this.
    And at my wifi the site in ignitio takes 2 seconds then it is loaded?
    So cannot recall you are telling me the site is slow.
    But there could be a link between wprocket and embedpress though.
    Have to investigate.
