    Hi,

    newbie here.

For some unknown reason, my website based upon the ember nimbus theme is taking around 5 seconds to load. I have no idea what to blame and how to check it. I know it can be the hosting provider or the website itself. I tried 2 different wordpress cache options, but none seem to help. I have reduced picture sizes and removed unused plugins. I noticed that Ember has a lot of possible widgets and was wondering if those could increase load times, even when they aren’t used. I found the solution on this forum to load the banner instantly (it was showing a gray surface before, till the whole page was loaded), but it’s picture is not positionned correctly until the page has finished loading. Chrome is showing a clockwise rotating circle during the load. After 1 – 1.5 seconds, the page is displaying, but the chrome load indicator keeps rotating for another 3 – 3.5 seconds. Only after that time, the banner picture is displayed as expected. This is driving me nuts. Regards in advance for any possible solution.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

It’s likely my web hosting provider that is slow. Speed test sites show that it takes 1.5 seconds before the first byte is received. Every attempt to make things faster using W3 cache or WP super cache or pagespeed ninja seem to give a reverse result. I finally modified the parallax.js jave script and fix programmed the banner dimensions into it. It’s an ugly solution but it does the trick. On mobile devices, I don’t see the issue. Parallax probably isn’t used when the site is displayed mobile.
So, now the google loading indicator keeps spinning right for 3 – 5 seconds, but the webpage becomes visible and responsive after 2 – 3 seconds. The banner picture doesn’t jump anymore once the page is fully loaded.
