• Hi everyone!

I just changed the main domain on my server. This ereased all my files :/
I have backed up the files, so that’s no problem. BUT the files doesn’t contain of the posts or pages information, right?

I also have a file that has been created with what I believe is wp-db-backup: I tried importing this file using phpmyadmin to the database where my site is now installed. It said that the import went okay but I couldn’t see any difference.

I’m not very good at this, am I missing something? what could i do?

  • How did you get the backup? If you used a database plugin, you probably need to use the same plugin to restore. If you used phpmyadmin to backup, then that would be the correct way to restore. “Assuming” the restore method matches the backup method, I have had to do a repair to clean it up in the past.
No guarantee on that apparently though. While it has worked for me in the past, I now have a crashed database. But I believe it is a different problem (possibly caused by an attack because my server CPU pegged before I had issues).

Correct. Your posts are in the database.

It sounds like you were using https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wp-db-backup/ so check their page for how it works.
