    Hello,

I added some emojis in the meta description by pasting the unicodes (see source code), it shows up fine in the Yoast preview but not at all in the Google search results — what could be the issue?

    Thank you,

  • It could take some time for Google to update the changes you’ve made. However, if you have your site setup in Google Search Console, you can force Google to re-crawl a page by using the “Fetch as Googlebot” feature. You can use this feature to force Google’s index to update.

    Hello,

thanks for the quick and detailed answer. I forced the re-crawl but it didn’t help. My source code doesn’t show emojis unlike other websites, where it works, maybe I am using the wrong unicodes? I used https://r12a.github.io/app-conversion/ and then “Hex NCRs”. I know this has nothing to do with Yoast anymore but maybe I am lucky …

    Cheers

Unfortunately, we are unable to confirm why Google isn’t showing the emojis in the search results for your site. We know that Google often modifies the meta description in the search results.
