emoticons does not work without a space

    When adding an emoticon like ?? if there isn’t a space between the last text and the first semicolon, it only appears as text:roll: (for example: hello:roll appears without the emoticon and appears with the string ?? but hello :roll: appears as hello with the corresponding emoticon.

    I am running WP 4.5.2 and using 2014 theme.

    Emoticons are converted using a built-in WordPress function convert_smilies() — just like it is used in posts and elsewhere. This plugin is not having a dedicated function for emoticons. If you wish a different behaviour, you need the WordPress internals handle that.
