We had an accident importing the wrong list…

Thus we deleted all 3545 imported subscribers again, but when we try to click the ‘Empty Trash’ button it not being emptied. We’re just being redirected to the default All listing.

Also tried selecting all trashed subscribers on the first page, then ‘Select all items on all pages’, and finally ‘Delete permanently’ – and none is deleted from trash. List is just refreshing without any being removed.

    Hi there @syntaxerrorno,

Is it possible that these imported subscribers are also either WooCommerce Customers or WordPress Users? You can check this by looking at a sampling of subscribers and seeing if they are showing as being on one of those two lists.

    Full Size: https://d.pr/i/dNF8HJ

If so, then both of these lists are auto-generated and as such, subscribers on these lists **cannot be deleted directly**.

To delete any WordPress Users, you would need to go under Users on your dashboard and delete their user account. This should remove them from the WordPress Users list and they can then be deleted.

To delete any WooCommerce Customers, you would need to delete any and all orders placed by that customer, as well as their customer account if it exists. This should remove them from the WooCommerce Customers list and they can then be deleted.

If this is not the issue – i.e. these subscribers are just sitting on a list you created or no lists at all – and you are still unable to delete them, please share screenshots if possible to show any error messages you are seeing when attempting to empty the trash.

In addition, please share your system info as found under MailPoet > Help on the “System Info” tab.

    Thanks,

I don’t recall the step exactly anymore. I did import the subscribers before I imported the customers (webshop migration), but I don’t recall if the customer had been imported when I tried to delete the subscribers. Thus it’s plausible that it’s linked to the customers, and how MailPoet works regarding this.

I don’t agree it’s optimal the way MailPoet handles subscribers though (honestly it’s a bit annoying), and hopefully that will be reworked at some point, but that’s anyhow a different matter, so we can leave it there – assuming you’re right about the linked customers/users.

PS! Anyhow MailPoet should display a error/note about what’s going on, and not just reload or redirect without doing anything, leaving us users wondering just like that… ??
