  • Hi there, the easiest way would be to replace the current image.
I just had a quick look.
You need to create an image called header.jpg and upload it to the
emptiness theme directory. The size is currently 500×265
Keep the dimensions the same and it will replace the current image.
    Hope it helps.
    Mike.

Thank you very much for the reply.

I only see under settings, blog title and tag line.
Where is the header image in the default theme?
How do I upload the header image that I have.

hi there, are you talking about he emptiness theme, yes.
The header image is in the theme directory for emptiness.
You need to edit the image you want to the same size as the image you are replacing and ftp it to your theme.

    Thank you again.
I actually took the project from some else who had already modified the theme.
Thats why I couldnt figure it out … I think with your help I am on the right track and hopefully I will be able to complete this.
I will post again if I need more help.

    Keep up the good work.

    good luck.mike.

I actually found that uploading the image does not solve the issue.
I want to call the header image from the header.php file
Do you know how to do that?

    Does any one have suggestions?

Got it working after a long time of tweaking the code.
    The header image is fine.
How ever the font Lucida Grande doesnt seem to take effect.
I want Lucida Grande and Georgia but only georgia seems to work for me with the emptiness.
Any idea why Lucida Grande doesn’t get along with my code?

    hi there,
I’m just interested to see how you did manage to get the image working on your site.
I have also uploaded my image on my server site and it’s not refreshing – I have it saved under header.jpg to the size specs stated in the appropriate file.
When I view it on my server it all looks fine, but when I check the actual blog the original image is still there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,

Could you share what you did to change the header I am having the same problem as mccarthy.

    Thank You.

    Hello,
I am having trouble getting my image file to replace the tree image that came with the emptiness theme.
I resized the file as instructed.
I renamed the file as instructed and FTPd to replace the original header.jpg.
It’s still not showing at: https://www.pigandpanda.com.
    Can you please help?
    Many Thanks!
    Rebecca

    Hi-
I’m running into the same problem as others in this thread. I’ve uploaded my own image, correctly sized, to the header.jpg file. But the theme continues to show the same tree picture.

Can someone tell me how they managed to fix this problem?

    Thanks!

My apology for my lateness in checking this thread.

To change the header image, please follow the instruction on the wiki page, FAQ section https://code.google.com/p/bitpress/wiki/Emptiness

If the header stays the same even though you believe that you’ve done everything correctly, try to:
    – double check the file name, sometimes there’s a typo
    – double check the file extension, e.g. when style.css specifies header.jpg, this means that header.jpeg won’t work.
    – clear the cache on your browser, sometimes you keep getting the header image cached on the client side
