I’m having a problem where every once in a while, the entries page of my blog redirects to an empty subdirectory.

I have a designated front page, and my posts page is called “BLOG”. Everything at the moment is working, but a few weeks ago the blog page was gone. When I logged in to my host, I noticed an empty subdirectory called “blog”. Once I deleted it, everything was back to normal.

Then, today, the same thing happened. I can’t figure out why this is happening/what is creating that subdirectory.

What is causing this? Do I have a setting wrong? Or is it a problem on my host’s end?

I have been over this for two hours and can’t figure out what’s wrong.

  • The only thing I can think of without knowing your wp configuration, plugins, theme, etc, is to alter the blog page url. Change it to /blog-posts or something. And see if it happens again.

Brilliant, thanks for the suggestion. You gave me an idea.

As it turns out, I had a subdirectory called “blog” on my domain, from a years old attempt at creating a blog pre WordPress. Got rid of it and now it seems to work. Thank you!

    That’s great news!
