There is an issue I’ve been facing for a while now, that I can’t seem to understand and solve. I’ve consulted your documentation, emptied the cache, tried deactivating all plugins, tried 2 different themes (Storefront and Flatsome theme), but I’m stuck.

The issue is that there’s an empty product category that shows products:
https://fotosemeins.nl/productcategorie/cashback/fujifilm-cashback/

The product category is called “Fujifilm-cashback”, it has no products assigned to it, yet 19 products are displayed when you view that page.

I’ve double checked those 19 products and none of them have been assigned to category “Fujifilm-cashback” in any way. When I filter on that category (in the backend under All products) I’m also seeing those 19 products, even though there’s a 0 between brackets next to the category.

Hope you can look into it.

It looks like the category page isn’t accessible for me to replicate the issue. Did you disable or remove the category? However, I appreciate the steps you’ve already taken to try and resolve the issue.

This seems to be a strange occurrence, but don’t worry; there are a few more things we can check.

First, please check if these products were previously assigned to the “Fujifilm-cashback” category and then removed. If so, it could be a database issue where the changes were not correctly saved. In this case, you could try re-assigning the products to the category, saving the changes, and then removing them again.

Next, head over to WooCommerce → Status → Tools, and do the following:
- WooCommerce transients – Clear

Thank you for your reply. I found the problem. We had multiple product categories with the same name, with different slugs. Two or more prod cats with the same name will automatically get a different slug, however that slug isn’t visible everywhere. Various products had been assigned to the wrong product category (which had the correct name, but the wrong slug).
