Empty Custom Fields

    Hello,

    I use only the summary card but have noticed that several unused fields get added to the Custom Fields sections of my posts. I’m also unable to delete them (I’ve tried deleting each blank field but upon “update” the blank fields return.

    The additional blank fields are:
    cardData2
    cardImgSize
    cardLabel1
    cardLabel2
    cardPhotoHeight

    I understand that this provides flexibility on a per post basis, but in a future release I would love the ability to specify that only TwitterCardType and CardImage were available at the post level. I use Custom Fields for many things on my site and the additional blank fields make it harder for me to administer my site.

    That’s not a bad idea, in fact I’m not really satisfied by the amount of postmeta, it needs to be optimized, clearly.

    But in your case, you’re not supposed to see these additional fields unless you select another card type in meta box and click on update or save draft.

    Now that I think about it, I noticed the additional fields after one of the recent updates, although I don’t remember which one! It was not the most recent, but one of the updates that preceded it. I looked at the changelog and could not remember which one, sorry!

    No, the issue still exists, I was trying to help identify when it appeared because there was a time when the extra fields did not display. I just could not remember which update caused the change.

    Ok I see. Thanks. The amount of postmeta has to be reduced. I’m to work on it for the next update.
