Seems like their would be a next step since I never had to select the page I want to post these articles on.

I see this in the Facebook instnat artciles settings page

In order to finish the activation, you need to grant all the requested permissions:
Manage Instant Articles for your Pages: allows us to publish Instant Articles to your selected page.
Please grant the needed permissions to continue:
    [login with Facebook button]

Ok I did a bit of extra debugging and seems like $permissions[‘pages_manage_instant_articles’] is not set after authentication.

Do I have to do something special in my app to allow for this when logging in ? I did grand all permissions that where asked

After adding the permission to my facebook app and submitting it for review I get the following back from facebook: but still it does not work…

Your app doesn’t need pages_manage_instant_articles to manage the Instant Articles of Pages or blogs that you admin. As an app admin, you can already access these permissions without review.
You can provide access to additional users by adding them as developers of your app. Only submit pages_manage_instant_articles for review if your app uses a public-facing login. For example, If you are using the Instant Articles WordPress plugin or similar you shouldn’t need to go through review.
