    add 1.)
Whenever you generate a shortcode like [osm_map_v3 …] the maptype is also part of this shortcode. The preview window tab one always shows the same openstreetmap yes.

    add 2.)
In the top of your admin area you fine [Screen options], just enable “custom fields”, this will show you the marker you have stored. You can modify and delete it.

I don’t see any screen options in my admin panel when editing a new post. I’ll have to search for a way to add that.

Should be there as standard, find some info here:

That’s how it is on some other pages, but not the page to edit a post. There is an option for custom fields in the menu on the right, that adds fields unter your plugin. i can delete the markers and modify them manually, but not back in the 4th tab, is that correct?

and now there’s no preview anymore, when i reopen a post that already has a shortcode. posts without a shortcode or new posts don’t have that problem.

@zwarwiescheidsolingen Can you post the shortcode that makes the problem?

I checked further on it… it just happens, when there are two shortcodes in the page.

here it happens, no preview is displayed:

    [osm_map_v3 map_center=”51.1415,7.1227″ zoom=”14″ width=”100%” height=”450″ ]

    [osm_map_v3 map_center=”51.1702,7.0831″ zoom=”14″ width=”100%” height=”450″ ]

If I delete one of them, a new map is displayed, but not the that’s in the shortcode above.

    Hello,

you can place as many maps as you want to in a post/page. Find your sample with the two maps here:

It has to be another reason if it fails …

    Hi Mika,

What is supposed to happen, if there is a code in the post when the post is being reopened for editing? Is the bottom field supposed to reflect that map?

    Hello @zwarwiescheidsolingen ,

make sure you press save draft or update before you move to another page. If you reopen it, you will get what you saved.

If you face difficulties, let us know how to reproduce it.

Not sure what more Information I can give you.

I create a new page, create a marker on the map, hit “Save marker and generate shortcode”, copy the generated shortcode and paste it to the post above, save the post, hit preview, the page shows up correctly with the marker at the right spot. I return from the editing page to all posts, then reopen the same post.

result: the shortcode shows up on top as saved. the map on the bottom doesn’t reflect that. there is no shortcode underneath. preview does create the right map with the marker, though.

    Got it ??

The map in the bottom of the post/page editor does not have any relationship to the post or page. It is simply a shortcode generator and a tool to save a marker and a geotag in a post. You can generate as many shortcodes as you want to. Means you can place three shortcodes in a post / page: One showing a marker, another a gpx file and another all geoatags of your site. The map in the bottom does not show the first nor the last integrated map – it’s just ready to generate a new shortcode.

thanks, that’s some unexpected behaviour, to be that honest.

obviously the marker is stored in a seperate file. how do i access it? is there a limit of all markers over all pages?

Markers are stored in the WP database and there is no limit of all markers over all pages ??
