    Hi

We are running a small bakery and we sell fresh products every day. When product is sold out is automatically hidden so when all products all sold the page become blank without any message.

Is there a way to customize the message so it so no blank?

  • Hi there @marekkrzeminski

Thank you for reaching out about this. From what I gather, with the current implementation the product page turns blank when a product has no more stock available, and you would like that to be more informative, instead. Correct?

Just to clarify, how is the “Allow backorders” field set up currently? It can be found in the Inventory tab of the Product data, and its related documentation can be found linked here.

As an example, when using the Storefront theme, along with only the WooCommerce plugin, and the product inventory settings like so, the product’s page looks like this. Not empty, that is.

For this, I suggest reaching out to their respective support channels, as they would be in a better position to assist you.

Further than the out-of-the-box WooCommerce functionality, consider using a plugin like Back In Stock Notifications, for notifying customers when your products are restocked.

To help you further, I’d like to understand more about your setup.

Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Once you’ve done that, you can paste the text in https://gist.github.com/ and feel free to change/remove your site URL in the report for privacy reasons.

You can paste the Gist link here in your reply, once you have that.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know. We’re happy to help.

    Hi

    Thanks for prompt reply.

My setup for Inventory is set for Do Not Allow since we are baking different products on different day and we are having around 150 products in total.

We can’t use back in stock option as well.

What I am trying to achieve is have an option to show a message when all my products are sold out instead of empty shop page.

    Hi @marekkrzeminski

What I am trying to achieve is have an option to show a message when all my products are sold out instead of empty shop page.

Thanks for providing further information about your use case here.

This is a fairly complex development topic that would require customization to do it. Since custom coding is outside our scope of support, I am leaving this thread open for a bit to see if anyone can chime in to help you out.

For questions related to development and custom coding, your best bet is to ask on any of these channels for support. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, too.

    Hope this helps!
