Hi @nethead2203
Thanks for reaching out!
I checked your other thread here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/empty-term/ and can see that it has been marked as resolved due to inactivity.
Can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce plugin is enabled, then, create a new category and see if this works?
If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.
If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.
If this did not resolve the issue, please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.
You can find it via
WooCommerce > Status
. SelectGet system report
and thenCopy for support
. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under
WooCommerce > Status > Logs
.You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.
Let us know how it goes!
Hi @nethead2203 ,
Have you managed to identify the cause of the issue after performing a conflict test as suggested by @xue28 above?
We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – however we’ll be here if you need any further help with this.
Cheers!

Thanks for providing an update – it’s possible that there was a technical hiccup, as it appears that the response has not been submitted to this thread.
To clarify, the issue persists when performing a conflict test, yes?
I am unable to reproduce this error on my test site, which uses the latest version of WooCommerce and WordPress, and has the default Storefront theme active.
Can you confirm that you are using this guide to create / add Categories and Attributes?
WC Version: 7.4.0 WP Version: 6.1.1
Also, as per the status report, I am able to see that you have an outdated version of WordPress and WooCommerce.
As a next step, please could you update these, in order to obtain optimal functionality?
Here are helpful guides:
Please ensure that you have a good?backup?of your?full site and database?in place before doing the updates, so that, should something go wrong, you are able to easily restore your site to a functioning state.
Please let us know how this goes!
I’ve updated the Woocomerce and WordPress to latest Versions. Still got the same issue. Also did all the malfunctioning checks and then only written here. If you can get my WordPress Credentials on staging and let me know whats the issue.
Hi @nethead2203
I understand that the issue still persists even after updating WooCommerce and WordPress to the latest versions.
Can you please share with us as well the System Status Report of your staging site too for us to check this further?
Please find it below:

Hi @nethead2203
Thanks for sharing the requested information above.
On this staging site, can you please confirm that you’ve switched to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce plugin is enabled, then, create a new category and see if this works?
Otherwise, please try to clear all transients under WooCommerce > Status > Tools and try again to create a new category.
- WooCommerce transients
- Expired transients
If still these solutions did not resolve the issue here, please provide the fatal error logs (if any) under
WooCommerce > Status > Logs
.You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.
Thanks!

Hi,
Sorry to hear about this.
Please note, we do not have access to sites in this forum, this is in accordance with our forum guidelines.

Upon re-checking the system report, I recommend installing a plugin like the WP Crontrol it might help to monitor the cron jobs, https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-crontrol/ it might help to find if there is something wrong with the crons. I am not sure if this is the cause of the issue, but it is something that brought my attention.
Does that make a difference? Let us know what you find.
It is not working.
If you guys also don’t know how to resolve this issue. Where do you guys want me to go and report it?
You guys are letting me down for sure on this.
If you are not able to get the credentials from here then help me outside of this?
You guys are the developer, so you should only know how to resolve this issue right?
Moderator note:
Please don’t offer to send or post logon credentials on these forums: https://www.ads-software.com/support/guidelines#the-bad-stuff
It is not OK to offer, enter, or send site credentials on these forums. Thanks for your cooperation.
For the record,
Support folks never ask for credentials on these forums.
Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.
If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.
Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us escalating this to the plugins team.
It’s never necessary to do that. Here’s why.
There are many ways to get information you need and accessing the user’s site is not one of them. That’s going too far.
- Ask for a link to the https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com log of the user’s web server error log.
- Ask the user to create and post a link to their
phpinfo();
output. - Ask the user to install the Health Check plugin and get the data that way.
- Walk the user through enabling WP_DEBUG and how to log that output to a file and how to share that file.
- Walk the user through basic troubleshooting steps such and disabling all other plugins, clear their cache and cookies and try again.
- Ask the user for the step-by-step on how they can reproduce the problem.
You get the idea.
Volunteer support is not easy. But these forums need to a safe place for all users, experienced or new. Accessing their system that way is a short cut that will get you into real trouble in these forums.
I understand all these. And again, even I know that sharing the Creds here is not right and also I told you guys to help me with the issue. But you guys are telling me some nonsense stuff to do, which I’ve already done. If I’m creating a thread here that means that I’ve already tried all the things to be done before creating a Thread here. This thread is open for a quite a long time now. You guys should’ve resolved it but still no solution. So now tell me what to do.
Thanks
