Could you enable the Pattern Explorer button in the Site Editor as well? (/wp-admin/site-editor.php)

I have patterns for Header, Footer, and other theme parts that would be great to access directly inside Full Site Editing. Currently the editor menu / toolbar area doesn’t show the Pattern Explorer there, only on regular posts/pages.

    Hi @sthchoi,

Thanks for reaching out and for the kind review. There are a lot of changes happening with how patterns are inserted in Core. For example, WordPress 6.2 will introduce a newly designed inserter panel that makes adding patterns from categories much easier.

This plugin was designed to showcase a few enhancements that could be made to the pattern modal. It was not intended to replace default functionality in the long term but rather inform future improvements to Core. Therefore, there are no plans to continue developing the Block Pattern Explorer.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Best,
    Nick

Thanks for your quick response, Nick! That answers my question and is helpful to know.

Hope to see these and further improvements make their way to Core soon. We’re betting early on Gutenberg and the new way things are done including patterns, and I think these kinds of quality-of-life improvements are essential for real-world viability at agency scale and beyond.
