Enable Login Lockdown Feature Is Not Working

    Hello everyone,

    I am new to the WP forum. I just installed All in One WP Security and having some difficulty enabling the Login Lockdown Feature. I currently have this option checked with 3 max login attempts, 1 min for login retry period, and 2 min for time length of lockout.

    I purposefully set these settings on the low end of the scale for testing purposes only.

    After I saved my settings, I logged out of WP and intentionally tried signing back in 3 times using an incorrect username or password. However, after 3 failed login attempts, All in One WP Security doesn’t lock me out, even though I have specified this parameter in my settings.

    I can still try logging in after 3 failed attempts without any error messages or lockout bans.

    By the way, I am trying to login in via the wp-admin link: https://www.resurrectedhair.net/wp-admin.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi wpsolutions,

    I just checked with Spectrum and they recently issued an update on my modem which now gives IPv6 precedence over IPv4. They told me IPv6 is more secure and more websites are beginning to support it; hence the update. I know how to disable it, so I’ll go ahead and test it out and report my findings.

    Hi wpsolutions,

    I just disabled IPv6 from my modem and ethernet card and the lockout feature FINALLY WORKS!

    Kudos to you and the rest of the contributors for a job well done!

    I will mark this thread as resolved.

    I hope going forward you guys can support IPv6 since my ISP said it’s more secure and more websites are giving it a go.

    It was a bit of a challenge but your efforts proved fruitful ?? You know what they say, never give up and always move forward.

    IPV6 will be implemented for this feature as @wpsolutions mentioned previously.
