Enable post date instead of event date to be reference in the main blog loop

How to enable post date instead of event date to be the sort reference when listing in the main blog loop?

Right now, when enabling “Include events in main blog loop”, the date used to sort the post is the event date.

We would like to include the event in the main blog loop as an announcement in advance for a future event. Using the event date and sorting descending, the event post keeps at the top of the list until the event date, with the future date, which could be seem weird for a blog post.
