• Hi

I hit the select button in the presentation screen of wordpress and all I get is this error

“Sorry, you need to enable sending referrers, for this feature to work.”

I would appreciate if someone could tell me what it means

    Kind regards

    Jeff

    Hi

Thank you for your kind reply.

I followed the instructions exactly, but still keep getting:
“Sorry, you need to enable sending referrers, for this feature to work.”

Is there anything else that I can do

    Kind regards

    Jeff

    Hi

I am browsing with IE 6, Windows 2000 and Zonealarm security suite

    Jeff

Okaay…….. Have you fully allowed your site / domain to use cookies with ZA ?

Is your site / domain added to IE’s trusted list ?

    Hi

Thank you kindly for your reply.

I went into zone alrm and removed the privacy header info check box. This solved the problem

    Kind regards

    Jeff

    Yay !

I have this problem. I can’t do much with Word Press. Now I can’t even activate a needed plugin for spam! (Furthermore, I can’t move back to MT, because WP doesn’t have the support of that kind of backup to move to a new script!) I might have to quit blogging.

I use Symantec Client Firewall, and Firefox 1.0.

The Firefox setting thing is default at 2.

I configured my firewall to accept all referrers, and went in and added it to accept everything from my domain, as well.

Furthermore, when I disable my firewall, entirely, I still get the error.

I had the same problem. I tried everything and it wasn’t working. This is what I did to get around it. It works great, and my plugins work great too because I didn’t modify anything.

    Go to WP-Admin Folder.

    Go to AdminFunctions.php

Around line 460. Just comment out like so.

//die(‘Sorry, you need to enable sending referrers, for this feature to work.’);//

It works great for me now! HOPE IT WORKS OUT FOR YOU!

And you’ve made sure that your domain isn’t blocked from saving cookies by either Firefox or the Norton Firewall?

And does it occur on just the Plugins page, or does it happen on other pages too?

I allowed my domain everything, cookies included, with my firewall. I have Symantec Client Firewall. How do I set Firefox to allow cookies from my domain?

Other pages, like the other annoying one; deleting comments from spammers, CAN’T DO IT. (They win)

I’m not sure what you mean about your Firefox setting being at “2”, but if you go to Tools/Options and click on the Privacy image, you’ll see Cookies listed on the right – click it open and make sure that “Allow sites to set cookies” is checked. If it isn’t, make sure your domain is in the exceptions list.

If that doesn’t help, try removing your plugins (manually – like delete them out of the plugins folder) and see if it works.

And if *that* doesn’t work, delete the /wp-admin folder completely and re-upload it from your computer (ideally, from a freshly unzipped archive of the version of WP you’re using).

That link sends us to answers to the problem, you’ll see where the two comes from. Yes, I checked the cookies in Firefox. I allow them all.

Have you tried to comment it out like i suggested?
