    Dear Tobias,

Thank you for this awesome plug-in.
As we are still in a developing state I cannot show you the website. As soon as we deliver the website to our client, I’m going to make a donation. I’m really pleased with the plug-in and if the client likes it as well I’m very happy to donate.

For now I’ve encountered a problem. After inserting the 14th table on the same page, the options in the box “Features of the DataTables JavaScript library” don’t work anymore if selected. Like for instance “sorting”.

I’m now at [table id=37 /]. Is there a limit on tables per page for these options? Because when I insert the same table on another page everything works fine.

Thank you in advance for your time,
    yours,
    Ton

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

No, there is no such limit. Most likely, there’s a syntax error in one of your tables, i.e. it’s not in rectangular shape. This means, for exampe, that you can not use #colspan# or #rowspan# in a table that shall be sortable.
Are you maybe using these? If not, there likely is broken/invalid HTML code, e.g. a missing quotation mark in some HTML in a table on that page.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

    Thank you for your answer.
I know that when I use #colspan# or #rowspan# sorting doesn’t work. Since I used that in one of the tables, the following tables where I didn’t use those spans, the sorting doesn’t work either. I can’t find where the problem is. I have three pictures for you. You can see if I use one of the older tables that it works well.

Do you sill think I have to find it in a broken/invalid HTML tag?

    Hi,

you’ll have to either remove all #colspan# and #rowspan#, or uncheck the “Use DataTables” checkbox on the “Edit” screen of that table.

Please check if you are seeing JavaScript errors in the browser error log console.
Unfortunately, I can not really find out more without seeing the actual page, as I can then inspect it with the browser developer tools.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Ah,

I got it. There was in one of the tables a #colspan# and the “Features of the DataTables JavaScript library” was selected! From there on all the new tables the sorting didn’t work.

Just to be sure I deleted the #colspan# in al the cells and paste it in again with the “Features of the DataTables JavaScript library” deselected.

    Thanks for helping!

    Hi Tobias,

We’ve encounter a problem with sorting.

In Tablepress it sort fine (I sort C) but on the website (2010) it sorts only by the first number.

    I got a picture here:

    I hope I’m clear enough?

    Thank you so far,
    Ton

    Hi Ton,

does that contain really only contain numbers in all cells? I can see some “NA” entries in other cells. These do cause problems with numeric sorting.

    Regards,
    Tobias
