Enable while troubleshooting not working

    Hi,

    When I enter troubleshooting mode, I cannot enable any plugin or switch theme. Nothing happens, the page just refreshes.

    I run v1.5. And I have been using it for a while but this is the first time I started facing this problem. Please help me resolve this.

    Hiya,

    do you see any warnings or errors? For example does the Troubleshooting Mode widget (shown on the dashboard, and plugins screen) have any notes?

    Hi,

    Extremely sorry for not including this earlier. I have attached the image of the error. When I force activate it, I am unable to deactivate it. The three categories of errors are:

    1. When enabling the plugin, buddy-notification-bell, a site failure occurred. Because of this, the change was automatically reverted. Enable anyway
    2. When bulk-enabling plugins, a site failure occurred. Because of this, the change was automatically reverted.
    3. When switching the active theme to twentytwenty, a site failure occurred. Because of this, we reverted the theme to the one you used previously. Switch anyway

    Hiya,

    This was caused by a bug in the validation process when enabling/disabling a plugin or theme during troubleshooting mode. Although using the new “force enable/disable” feature would allow you to bypass this, it was obviously not a great user experience.

    Version 1.5.1 which just rolled out is a maintenance release that addresses this specific issue, hopefully it’ll work out better for your going forward ??
