• If you are having a shared hosting account with Godaddy, you are unable to use wordpress multisites using subdomain’s as the root directory for network sites, which is what Godaddy is claiming.

Actually, you can, the problem why you are unable to use subdomains as a directory for wordpress multisites in Godaddy is, when you configure your wordpress for network sites, your wordpress is configured properly, except that the sub domain is not actually created by or properly done by Godaddy system, duh it’s a glitch.

I published a post Enabling Multisite using subdomains with Godaddy shared hosting where I have elaborated on how to use multisite with godaddy shared hosting.

The best thing about this way of configuring is you can use domain specific themes for your networks, awesome isn’t it.

Does GoDaddy not permit you to change the location of the travel subdomain from /travel to / ?

No, they haven’t, instead of using the sub directory (/travel) to install my new network site, I just installed it on a sub domain “travel.withinindia.in”
