I have installed/activated Ultimate Social Icons and Share Plugin on a TwoFold Child WP Theme.

I am trying to get 2 social icons that just go to my social profile, placed in the Footer section of the website. I have gone through all the setup instructions/questionnaire. Filled everything out.

Under <Appearance/TwoFold Options/Footers> I am placing the short code. If you look at the website right now, you can see the result. Maybe I’m putting the short code in the wrong place?

    Thanks much for your assistance.

Thank you for your question. Where exactly did you place the shortcode? I cannot see any.

    Thanks Nick,

    Two Fold Child Theme

    Left menu – Appearance
    Two Fold Options

    Center box – Theme Options
    Left menu – Footer
In the text box : [DISPLAY_ULTIMATE_SOCIAL_ICONS]

Refresh the website you see the result.

Okay thank you. And did you have the “Place icons manually”-option checked (selected) under question 3 on the plugin’s settings page?

    Question 3

Well the option is actually: Place via shortcode (checked)

Need a different selection for mobile? : No

Show on: Desktop (checked) Mobile (checked)

Ok, could you please clear cache? By that, I mean…

    – The browser cache, see https://www.solutionbay.com/solutions/dont-know-how-to-clear-the-cache-1
    – Please also check if you have a cache plugin installed. If so, please disable it temporarily, and check if it’s ok now

Checked all the Installed Plugins – there is no cache plugin. I only have about a dozen plugins total.

Firefox web browser (where the WP app is open) cache has been cleared.

Ok, interesting case. Do you have any server-side caching activated (your hoster, or Cloudflare etc.)?

    Thread Starter rememberxyz studio

    (@rememberxyz)

    Maybe Cloudflare, I’ll check.

I do use SiteLock which is a anti-hacking service. Not sure if it involves cache the site.

    called Host… now calling SiteLock

SiteLock has purged the cache for the site firewall

Ok pls check and let me know.

The site has the cache purged, I went back to the footer section of Appearance, didn’t change anything but clicked on Save Changes.

Refreshed the site in the Edge browser where I’m monitoring the changes. The font of the Shortcode has changed from what it was before. So that happened.

Okay. Does placing the shortcode somewhere else, e.g. inside an article, work?

    Thread Starter rememberxyz studio

    (@rememberxyz)

    Nick,

There are no “articles” The website is images and menus.

The left column remains when you click on Contact or About for example. The only thing I can do on those pages is add the shortcode into the text of the page. That doesn’t do anything.

Ok, it seems that it’s an issue with the theme. It doesn’t allow shortcode in that footer. Could you please ask the theme creator about it?

I’m trying every avenue to fix this. I mean, how hard should it be to put a couple icons on a page???

I paid for BlueSky WP consulting….couldn’t figure it out

Trying WP forums and WP searches….. can’t figure it out

Near as I can tell this is the theme creator, based in London, has not responded to request for assistance.

    I’m really stuck.

If you change the theme, does it work then? Do other shortcodes work on that theme?
