• Hi, I’v recently set up a blog at https://ilfpost.org/ and I expected that people would be able to comment on the posts. However, it seems that nobody can comment unless they are logged in (meaning they have been assigned a user name and passoword. I’ve checked the box “Allow people to post comments on the article” on the options/discussion page and uncheck any boxes that would, in any way, prevent comments. Also for the 2nd post I’ve enabled the “Allow comments” box

Is it possible to allow people to comment without being assigned a user name, etc.

    My appreciation for any assistance

Yes I have and the person for whom I doing this has as well. When he visits and If I logout and then visit we both get the same thing – no comment box appears and there is a notice saying “You must be logged in to post a comment.”

Is the link to the RSS fee supposed to be helpful? If so, there’s a problem as clicking on that link results in The page cannot be displayed

I have the same problem: no user can post without logging in first:

Is there any idea why this is happening?

Actually, I found another checkbox that controls comments, but is not int eh comments options section.

Under “General” uncheck “Users must be registered and logged in to comment”

This still posts the comment immediately, which is not what I want, but it’s a step in the right direction I guess.
