Enabling slider

  • How do I enable the slider and sticky posts? I’ve looked in the editor and the coding is there for the slider but it just isn’t showing up. I’m not seeing an option to sticky posts anymore either. Any advice?

  • It’s cleverly hidden.

    To activate the slider in the Ascetica theme, you have to:

      1. Create a post (Posts > Add New)
      2. Click Add Media (now insert your image for the slider)
      3. IMPORTANT PART! On the right side of the “Add New Post” form, click Visibility: Public and it will open up hidden options. Click Stick this post to the front page
      4. Publish post.
      5. Insert sigh of relief.*

    *NOTE: If it doesn’t work, go back to each post and try setting “Set featured image” to the picture in the post itself. That oughta fix it!

    I also set all my “slider photo” posts to Format – Gallery and created a category of “Photos” to add them all to.

    ?? Thank you! It’s working now. Number 5 was what I was missing.
