    Hi there,

On my site I would like to use the ’tiled gallery’ feature on some pages, however the way to turn that on (speed up image load times) makes images and sliders and such really poor quality on all of my site. Is there a way to keep the tiled gallery feature enabled while the loading time of the images isn’t touched? I need these images to stay HQ.

If not, is there another way to enable the ’tiled gallery’ feature?

    Thanks!

    Hi there!

It seems that Image CDN is enabled on your site right now and I don’t see it affecting your site negatively.
The photo on the front page looks a bit pixelated but it seems to be because it’s been resized by the plugin you used for the slider.

Can you give us any particular example where you see the image quality worsening after enabling Image CDN? A screenshot of the page with Image CDN enabled and disabled would be great. You can use an online tool for that (such as https://snipboard.io/) and paste here the link.

Hi @fresatomica ! Thanks for the reply!

The main problem is the main slider on the homepage, however it’s not pixelated because it’s been resized by the slider plugin, because when I turn off the option in Jetpack, the slider is perfect! I have turned the speed up image load time function off now so you can see the difference.

I’d love to hear if you might have an idea how to fix it!

Oh, I see the difference now. It seems that the image that’s picked up when the CDN is enabled is smaller than the original and that’s why it looks blurry. I suspected that it might be served by the plugin since there are known issues with Revolution Slider.

If you could enable CDN again, we’ll try to gather more info about it.

Also, please try to also disable Lazy Images and check if that changes anything.
Let me know how it goes.

Thanks so much for the support!

For now I have installed a different plugin to add a photo gallery but for future sites it would be helpful to know if this is a solvable issue. I’ve turned the feature back on and disabled lazy loading.

I’d love to hear from you!

I had a look again and I can see that the image that’s served now is resized, have a look: https://d.pr/i/rpLpPS, you can see that the image that’s loaded has width=”865″ and height=”577″.

You will want to look for any setting that resizes that image to the width of 865 and change it. The slider overrides these settings, however, when CDN is enabled it will look for “the best possible” size and that is why the smaller one loads.
So, check what are large image settings in WordPress and your theme and change those.
