Enclosing vs self-closing shortcodes

your plugin is about to revolutionize wordpress ??

I wonder if you could use enclosing shortcodes like

[caption]My Caption[/caption]

and based on this also recursive shortcodes.

the wordpress API tells us to use do_shortcode($content) within the registering function, but it doesn’t seem to work with your script.

am I wrong?
