enclosures in 2.0

  • Hello,

    In my install of wordpress 1.5, when I insert a link to a mp3 in a post, an enclosure is automatically created.
    I installed 2.0 on the same server, and no enclosures are created !
    (my mime.types are correctly configured, I am using absolute URL…)

    Anyone have an idea? Or is there no podcasting support in WP 2.0 ?

  • Are you getting any errors? What happens if you add an image? Are you by any chance on ‘safe mode’ hosting? Have a look under /wp-content/uploads. Can you identify your enclosure under the current month’s directory?

    The upload works, both with images and mp3s.
    It’s just that no enclosure tag is generated in the RSS.

    I have WP 1.5 on the same server working correctly.

    Can anyone please share their experience with enclosures in 2.0, both if it works or if it doesn’t.

    I also am not seeing enclosures being automatically created in 2.0 either. I can manually enter them, but w/o the length and type tags. This is a bummer.

    I am having the same problem. I added a post with an absolute URL to my mp3, and it worked. I then realized that I had linked to the wrong mp3, changed the post to point to a different url, and now I get no enclosures, even on new posts. Anybody out there please HELP us!!

    That’s interesting. Still means it’s broken, but perhaps we’re getting closer to a cause.

    This must not be widespread enough yet to garner much attention. It sure sucks though. I may downgrade this weekend until I hear it’s fixed.

    I had problems with enclosures in both 1.5 and 2.0 so I wrote a plugin to deal with it. It’s very early in the development process, but check it out at https://www.15framespersecond.com/enclosureflex/
