• Hi,

It’s a great plugin using to project of my client selling videos after lots of search for watermarking a video yet I think it’s the best plugin. However 2 things needed and I hope if there’s a solution.

Can I encode the source URL of the video? If someone and especially developers checked the source of the page can determine the main source of the video and download it originally without watermark thus is there a way to encode or change the default source URL without loosing any of the effects?

Possibility of managing the watermark position and size, is possible to manage that?

How are you watermarking the video? Are you using FFMPEG to re-encode the video with a watermark or are you using the image overlay option? The image overlay is only visible on playback and attempting to obscure the URL would only slow down the most casual thief since the video is downloaded to the user’s computer either way. I haven’t implemented any methods for encoding URLs and I don’t think it’s a very useful security system.

Changing the watermark position and size is in the FAQ.

    Hi Kyle,

Thanks for the reply. I’m using the image overlay and not FFMPEG. Does FFMPEG help me watemark the video? I do know that the video thus I’m looking for a way to watermark the video directly so when the video is downloaded to the use’s computer it will be with the watermark.

    Hi @c05338

You can try hotlink protect function of your stream server, Nimble is a free stream server then you can use it.

FFMPEG can re-encode your videos with a watermark, which will make it impossible to download the video without the watermark. But keep in mind it’s really difficult to setup FFMPEG on your server and most shared hosting plans won’t let you do it at all.
