@webmark487 – There are still some issues with “special” characters, have you tried our latest public beta version to see if it helps sort this one out for you?

Here is a link to the page with more details: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/nextgen-gallery-latest-beta/

    Thanks!

    Hi Cais,

Can you say which php file/s is/are responsible for character encodings.
So I could take a look at it by myself.

    Thx

@webmark487 – Unfortunately I do not have a list of specific files that are used and/or affected by encoding … if you wish to submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) I would be able to forward off your specific request to our developers to see if they keep that sort of listing.

    Thanks!

I habve noticed, that the umlauts work fine if a consonant is set before the umlaut in the filename.
It works fine as e.g. B?r, Stra?e, Hühnchen etc. but quits when the filename is started with the umlaut as in ?pfel.
The ? is then not displayed and the filename displays as pfel

Hope this helps getting a fix.

    Have a great today

@webmark487 & @akilein – We believe we have finally sorted out this issue with non-latin characters being “double-encoded” (the most common effect when there is an issue) and this correction will be in our next release.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

Thanks a lot. This is good news.

@akilein – Yes, it definitely is … and something we are happy to be finally sorting out.
