Created a child them from encounters-Lite Theme and customized it. All has been working fine. I used the duplicator plugin to upload my localhost installation to a subdomain on the live server. Noticed there was a broken link in the header so clicked on “customize” option in the WordPress installation and received this error:

Class ‘encounters_lite_note’ not found in /home2/vhoasatx/public_html/vhoatest/wp-content/themes/encounters-lite/includes/theme-customizer.php on line 645

Checked my localhost installation and it too is now displaying the same error when it did not the last time I worked on the site. I checked the encounters-lite theme and it too has the same error now when it did not when I created my child theme. Have not done any modification for a week and all was working fine before I attempted to upload the site. Cannot do any customization to correct a couple of errors in the header etc and need to have this function. I checked the Theme-customizer.php file and the “encounters_Lite_Note” is referenced on Line 645. No idea what the error is telling me or how to fix it.

Any ideas from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi There,

Could you please mention the version of the theme as well as WordPress which you are using, so that it will be little easy to find the solution asap and please mention the Site URL also. We hope you understand.

We look forward to your respond.

    Thanks

Thank you for the reply. The version of Encounters-lite I am using is 2.5.2, which I believe is the latest version. Using wordpress version 4.6.1. The site URL is vhoasatx.com. Because of the error, I have the site being redirected to a subdomain, which is my test site and it is vhoatest.vhoasatx.com. Because of the error, the site would not run at all and I could not redirect it to a working subdomain, so I took it down and reloaded my old site files. No idea why, but once I did that, I could redirect and both my main and subdomains ran ok. I figured I did something wrong when I tried to upload my new site, so repeated the process with the same results. Got the error mentioned in the original posting and neither the main or the subdomain would run. Had to reload the old site files to the main root directory and then redirect it to the subdomain. That is how it is configured now until I can figure out how to solve the error which crashes my site.

Hope this makes sense. I guess in summary, when I attempt to upload the new site files using the encounters-lite theme, I get the error mentioned and neither my main domain or subdomain will run. Once I reload the old files, which are running off a different theme, I can then redirect to a subdomain which is running the encounters-lite theme. Just makes no sense to me at all. By the way, I have attempted to upload the new files with duplicator and manually by FTP then changing the database links. I get the same results with both methods.

Would appreciate any help you could offer.

Wanted to announce that I downloaded the encounters-lite theme template once again, and retried installing site to my root directory using duplicator for the third time. I created an entirely different database with a new user and it worked flawlessly this time. No idea what was different other than a completely different database and user. It appears this issue is closed.
