I wasn’t able to recreate the issue. Do you have some specifics on where this is occurring? One thing might be to not include a space between the word and beginning of the [note] shortcode. That should keep it from breaking separate of the word it is attached to.

Apologies… I totally lost track of this thread. Here is an example of the problem:

    https://bazaar.typeheritage.com/test-easy-footnotes/

On my system with the theme-default Verdana font and Firefox browser, numbers 14, 33 and 58 are “bumped” to the line below (your mileage may vary). I guarantee that there are no spaces between the text and the “note” shortcodes.

This plugin is otherwise so PERFECT and so NECESSARY to my site’s historical credibility that I can live with this minor glitch, which occurs ever-so rarely. Usually, a minor change in text wording eliminates it.

I just wanted to alert you to this potential hazard that may limit satisfaction among others who test it in the future.

Thanks again for your *wonderful* work, Anna

P.S. With Chrome, my system mis-displays the in-line superscripts for footnotes Nos. 38 and 63:

    https://bazaar.typeheritage.com/test-easy-footnotes/

Bears repeating… This is not a *serious* problem—just a “heads up” that you may want to fix if possible.

Otherwise, I LUV Easy Footnotes and will continue to recommend it for “scholarly” sites like mine. I originally chose it because it did not conflict with the WD Slider plugin:

P.P.S. This minor glitch also varies with video resolution. My default for online viewing is 1024 x 768 per Firefox. Others may see something entirely different.

    Hang in there, Jason…

Sorry for the delay. I’ve just had some time to look at the example you sent and noticed that a few items are showing spaces. Number 58 for example shows a space in the HTML between Footnote and the number. https://take.ms/qDlIm

I’m trying to determine if there is any way that the footnote could be inserting that space in when it inserts the footnote number but I haven’t been able to find anything yet. Especially since others seem to be showing with no space.

I typed a few words with no spaces before the shortcode, then pasted repeatedly:

    Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote [note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note] Footnote.[note]footnote[/note]

Maybe the glitch is caused by the browsers I tested (see above)?

I’m sure you’ll figure it out soon, Anna

If that’s the exact code you’re using it looks like there are some that are occasionally missing a period and have a space instead. https://monosnap.com/image/sTWnYJA6sc2nZBSPo6h6w2WRE2P8mA.png

Chrome display is now perfect regardless of screen resolution, manual font-size adjustment and whether one sidebar or two.

It looks like Firefox is the problem: Errors with all of the above variables. A few random screen shots:
