• I changed my permalink structure tonight to remove trailing slashes (changed from /%postname%/ to /%postname%), but now I’m getting endless redirects when I try to access my blog page. My home page is a static page, and my blog page is accessed at mydomain.com/blog. All of my other pages and blog posts work fine with the new permalink, but when I go to mydomain.com/blog, I get the endless redirect problem. I’ve spent the past hour or so Googling this problem trying to find a fix, but my search came up empty, so any help with this is appreciated.

  • See if you have the same problem after switching to a default WP theme (2012 or 2013). If you still have problems, deactivate all plugins and see if the problem persists.

The problem still exists with the 2012 theme and all plugins deactivated.

Change the permalinks back (to /%postname%/) and see if the problem persists.

    Works fine with /%postname%/.

May work fine with /%postname%.html or /%postname%.htm as well. Sorry, I am not sure why only one page creates endless redirects.

I figured out that the problem had something to do with the fact that I had WordPress installed in the /blog directory on my server. I think Apache was confused because WordPress was telling it to remove the trailing slash from /blog, but Apache wanted the slash there because /blog was a real directory on my server. I decided to move my WordPress install into the root of my server, delete the /blog directory, and that fixed the endless redirect problem.

Glad to note that you could resolve the issue. ??
