Engraving settings

Hi Is there any users who are up to speed on what setting are needed for the engraving print method. I am finding there are so many variations available its confusing me . Also I cant get the product I am trying to set up as a test product to stay active after saving, it reverts to the hip flask when I want to test a slate tile.
