Enhanced tag field

I’m getting a javascript error when trying to use the enhanced tag text input.
The error is ‘gfcpt_tag_inputs is not defined’.

Googling the issue I came across this other thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/gfcpt_tag_inputs-is-not-defined which doesn’t provide much more help, but the last comment is hinting at a similar issue to the one I’m having.

Looking at the plugin code, the function that sets the variables to enqueue the scripts for the enhanced tag functionality works correctly (enqueue_custom_scripts), but then the variables ($this->_has_tag_inputs, $this->_tag_inputs) aren’t returning the correct values when it goes to enqueue the scripts (enqueue_scripts). The code looks right, but isn’t working, not sure why.
