Works well and it gives some very useful information especially if you have a lot of widget areas.

Would you be able to add a way to toggle it on and off without deactivating the plugin or logging off? Often I want to view the site in the browser and I only need to see the widget area names for a second. Then I’d have a more accurate view of the site when I don’t need the info.

If there was a checkbox on the top admin bar, it would save several steps. Great plugin.

    Hi Steve:

Thanks for the review and feedback. I will start to address this change with some jQuery in next minor version.

I added the jQuery toggle functionality.

    Thanks Steve

That works even better than I expected! Thank you for responding to my request. I’m now adding this plugin to several of my sites in development.

Can you allow us to choose to make the show/hide state persistent? In other words so, if I have it toggled off (hiding the names) it stays off when I click on a link to another page in the site. Maybe with a checkbox next to the “SWAN” toggle link on the admin bar to “lock” it hidden or showing.

If not that, at least have the hidden state be the default. More often than not, I DON’T need to see the widget area names.

    Hi Steve,

I have defaulted the widget area names to display:none. This was the simplest fix, without spending too much time.

    Enjoy!

    Thanks for doing that!
