[Enhancement Request] Additional Social Media Options

  • First let me say thank you for your team’s work on this theme, it works very well for me and I look forward to using it more in the future. Second, let me apologize for posting this enhancement request to a support forum. I know this probably isn’t the proper venue, but I couldn’t find any kind of link, or contact form on any of the web sites linked to this theme that seemed appropriate.

    I would like to request a couple of additional restaurant-based social media link options be added:
    –Urbanspoon
    –Foodspotting
    –Untapped

    Hi C#, good suggestions. The next version that will go live has Yelp and Tripadvisor added. We’ll look at your suggestions for the version after that.

    In related news please do not upgrade to 2.0.8 as that has a critical flaw. We have submitted 2.0.9 and expect that will be available soon.

    Thanks for the heads up. I already took the 2.0.8 issue in the teeth today, luckily, it’s a new site, not yet live, so no-blood-no-foul. I pulled 2.0.9 from the repository and went with it.

    On a side note, if you’re going to dedicate a development cycle to this, perhaps it’s worth allowing the end user to specify custom options where they upload a graphic, name, and URL. It would give users a stop-gap option for the delta between future requests and code releases, and allow end-to-end customization of the social media logos as may be needed by various organizations.
