    Using Firefox on a Mac:
In the input area of a password protected file the words “Enter Password” are being treated as if they were a password, and appear as a number of dots. The input box also has a max-width of 250px though I can’t find any css controlling that. This looks bad as the overall width of the box containing the entire link is 100% wide (.col-md-12).

Using Chrome and also an old version of Safari the words “Enter Password” show properly, and the input box is full width.

Now I’m not that bothered about the box width but the lack of the message “Enter Password” is quite confusing for the user who is likely to click ‘download’ only to be told to try again. Is there any way of fixing this?

Some fault prevented me editing the post before, and now it is uneditable.

And I had wanted to remove the stuff about the box sizes. I have found all the css and php covering that question. Sorry about this mess.

Using Firefox 40.0.3 on a Mac the Enter Password text is replaced very quickly after loading with asterisks. And they do not disappear when you click in the box like the text does.

Have you looked at it on a Mac?
