Entering results – Array_filter() Warning on page

When entering results on the site and visiting the event page I get this message on the page:
Warning: array_filter() expects parameter 1 to be array, string given in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/sportspress/includes/class-sp-event.php on line 20

Putting this error into google brings up dozens of sports press sites with the same issue.

I tried using the quick editor and the event page to add the results and although both have given this error. It does appear to be more from the quick edit.

If I keep entering different results into that event it eventually goes away.

I’m using the latest version of WordPress, sports press, with the sports press soccer plugin and the rookie theme.
