Entire post to show, not just excerpt

I wanted to use the carousel, but it does not work with a static page, so I went to a static post (sticky post). The carousel shows but I only get an excerpt of the sticky post. On the front page, I want the ENTIRE post to show. HOW exactly do I do that? I have tried everything I know, pushed every button, but nothing is giving me the desired effect. Please help. Thank you.

PS sure would be nice if the carousel was functional on a static page, not just posts page……
