Episode summaries and links are posting to the webpage for each episode, but on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or any other podcast player, the episode summary text is clipped after a certain number of characters.

For example, here is how one episode page appears on our the website for our feed, with all the text and links: https://lemur.duke.edu/podcast/s1e1/

And here is what the same episode information looks like on Apple podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/s1e1-what-is-a-lemur/id1648345456?i=1000581578060

There’s a […] inserted at the end of the episode summary on Apple podcasts that is not in the original and it does not expand. It’s just cut off at that point. This also means keywords that might help the episode be discovered in searches on podcast players (especially Spotify) do not seem to be read in with the rest of the audio feed and links referenced in episodes are not available directly in the episode feed.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello @mborris,

If you check your podcast feed, the page content is clipped there – https://lemur.duke.edu/feed/podcast/aye-aye-pod/. It’s because you use excerpts for your episode description. To change it, please go to Podcasting -> Settings -> Feed Details -> eye-eye-pod, and change Episode description option to Post Content.

    Best regards,
    Serhiy.

Thank you so much for your rapid response! I found the Feed Details and “Post Content” was already selected. Perhaps there is another place where the description tag can be modified?

    Hi @mborris,

Did you check the settings on Podcasting -> Settings -> Feed Details -> Default podcast or on Podcasting -> Settings -> Feed Details -> Eye eye pod tab?

If you checked both setting and it still doesn’t work, could you send me your settings screenshot of the Podcasting -> Settings -> Feed Details -> Eye eye pod page?

Thank you for drawing my attention to the separate tabs for the default podcast settings and the non default settings tabs. The “Aye-aye pod” tab did not have “Post content” enabled. I updated the setting on the “Aye-aye Pod” tab and the full descriptions are now appearing.

    Thank you for your help!
