• Hi all. I am using the Soundbyte theme with the powerpress plugin. Initially I was posting my episodes under “Posts” which was working fine. But I learned that the theme has its own, more fully featured “Episodes” page, which I have been uploading all my episodes to.
The problem is that the RSS is not picking up any of the episodes from the “Episodes” page, only the first episode I uploaded on the standard “posts” page.

Here is are some screenshots better illustrating the issue:

Thank you for any and all support.

PowerPress only works with Posts, not Pages. If your theme has podcasting functionality built-in, you’ll need to decide which tool you want to use – the theme or PowerPress, and stick with that.

    Hello @strangecompany,

Thanks for being a PowerPress user!

To expand on what Shawn said, it sounds like your theme has its own built-in podcast support, albeit limited. You may want to find their documentation to find out if they want you to use a 3rd party plugin (like PowerPress) or how to use it with the theme otherwise.

If the theme added the custom post type correctly, it is possible to use PowerPress’s Post Type Podcasting advanced option to create post type podcasting podcast feeds for that post type added by your theme. Here are notes how post types should be added to support podcasting with PowerPress: https://create.blubrry.com/resources/powerpress/advanced-tools-and-options/post-type-podcasting/

It is possible to use PowerPress as normal with your theme, simply ignore the custom post type that the theme adds. The biggest advantage to using the native blog posts in WordPress is that Blogging and Podcasting go hand-in hand and allows your blog and podcast to co-exist. Podcasting at its base is nothing more than media attached to blog posts. Many podcasters for example, quickly find themselves becoming bloggers, while many bloggers expand their blogging by adding podcasting.

Please let us know what you end up doing.

    Thanks,
    Angelo
