Err 500 in admin
-
Hi, I am getting status 500 on preview-image at /wp-json/siteground-optimizer/v1/preview-image in SiteGround Optimizer – Media admin page. The functions are disabled as I use ShortPixel Image Optimizer.
The error then makes your notification window to pop up.
Thanks, Pavel.

I am also getting tes of these in different pages :

Those are admin errors so I can probably live with them but thought you might want to knou.
Hello @pumpaxxl,
500 status code is not expected to be returned by the mentioned JSON route. However, if you are using another plugin for this optimization and it disables some of our functionalities you can either disregard the error or decide which plugin you want to use.
The script named support-center.js is not part of our plugin. You can check your plugins’ files in order to find the problematic extension.
We recommend using only one plugin for a feature as that way no conflicts are encountered.
Regards,
DimitarHi Dimitar,
thanks for the quick reply. The Shortpixel plugin should not be in conflict with your plugin. Your plugin detected the Shortpixel one after its installation and displayed a note that it disabled its image optimization functionality in order not to be in conflict and that I can choose later to use Shortpixel or your plugin for the image processing.
The err 500 is probably yours as your plugin access non-existing resource in your folder.
Thanks,
Pavel.…also, nothing changes when I disable the ShortPixel or all the other plugins. The error stays.
Regards,
Pavel.I have also activated all Shortpixel image optimization features on my test installation. The 500 error is not returned on my end and the JSON route is working correctly, so there could be another plugin that blocks the request.
The mentioned route(/wp-json/siteground-optimizer/v1/preview-image) is an existing one and part of our plugins structure.
As you mentioned that all plugins have been disabled, you can check the file permissions, and even reinstall our plugin.
If your site is hosted on SiteGround server and you would like our team to investigate the case further, please post a new ticket from our User Area and we will be glad to check the case in detail.
Regards,
DimitarHi Dimitar,
the route is the virtual one, not on the disk. I reinstalled the plugin but problems are not gone. The Dynamic caching is on as default and when I try to disable it, I get your message, saying “Dynamic Caching is not supported in your current hosting environment.”. This does not make sense. And the option stays on. So I dont have a way how to disable it.
I don’t have your hosting any more. I will probably let go the plugin as it is a shame – looks like I would stay with it for all our sites. Unfortunately seems to be quite unreliable outside SG.
Thanks for your help.I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed by our plugin. Indeed, the dynamic cache is supported only on our end. The other options of the plugin should work correctly. Judging by the description of the issue, there could be an issue with the WP REST API communication that our plugin initiates in order to work.
As you mentioned that all plugins are disabled, I would recommend checking for leftover directives in the .htaccess file or php.ini/.user.ini files. Also, you can check for custom filters in the theme’s functions.php file and wp-config.php. Such issue could also be caused by modified core WordPress files.
Best Regards,
DimitarI have tested the same on a different hosting, all plugins off, checked the .htaccess where there were only the default WordPress rules and SG Optimizer rules. I did not get the errors but still could not turn off the Dynamic caching – the same behviour – I click on the button to turn it off, the message saying only SG hosting can do it pops up – then I close the message and the option is still on.
Regards,
Pavel. .I’m glad to hear that you have managed to resolve the previously reported errors. Regarding the Dynamic Cache option, you can safely disregard this feature’s value as it is compatible only with SiteGround servers.
Regards,
DimitarWell, I did not managed to resolve the previsously reported errors. I just tested the plugin on our hosting server that we want to leave and the errors were not showing. They are still showing on the site and hosting where I tested / need the plugin. These are two different hosting environments with different providers.
One last question – are you using .htaccess in your folders that would use any of the following rules?
SetHandler none
SetHandler default-handler
Options -ExecCGIIf yes, this can be the cause of the error.
Thanks,
Pavel.Hi @pumpaxxl,
Our plugin does not apply any of the provided directives in the .htaccess file. However, if some of them exist in your .htaccess file, they could be added by another plugin.
… they are not in our .htaccess file because the whole site would not work. And noone can add them to your file structure because it is not on the disk, so noone knows your folder names..
