• Hi,

while trying to create a recurring event from front end, we have this error message: “Since the event is repeated, you must specify an event end date greater than the start date”.

I think the event submission flow is not ok, because the actual flow is asking for a “Recurrence Span Between” instead of asking the “Event start date”. If I would need to add only the “Event start date”, then I would create a recurrence for it by selecting to make it repeat every Month, then I will select Event span every 30 days.

This way, if I would set up a recurring event with Event start date on “02/09/2024”, then I would choose “This event repeats every Month on First Monday the of each month”, then I would choose “Each event spans 30 day(s)”, I would create a recurring event which will start on 02/09/2024 and would repeat itself on monthly basis.

If I have an event repeating every month, for years, asking the “Recurrence span between” instead only of “Event start date” it makes unusable the recurrence functionality of this plugin, because it’s not possibile to set up the “span between” from the calendar.

So, please modify the way an user insert the recurrence accordingly. For a better understanding, think you need to create a calendar with recurring tax obbligations deadlines, or document submission on monthly basis to various institutions, which we are trying to create with this plugin, free version.

I was able to specify a multi-year range using the calendar. I clicked on the start date and then used the year pulldown to select 2033 and then clicked on a date in that month and it selected the entire range.

I was explaining my experience from an user perspective. I have 15 yrs experience with web projects, and I wasn’t able to set up a reccurence from your calendar, imagine an average user. I am talking about usability, meaning the user ability to perform a simple task. The users are not developers!
What would be the intuitive flow for that? 1. pick a a start date, 2. set the recurrence. End of story.

The fact you were able to perform this request to select the “span between” is saying nothing for the other users who were not able to use this calendar because of all then arrived to the point I arrived, have stumbled and give up on your plugin.

Consider it a free usability consultation.
