Hello all you computer-savvy forum helpers! I am a novice and have no expertise in the intricacies of files and technical elements. I have read the many topics on too many redirects and they might as well be in Latin. There is no way I can figure out how to go through 15 steps and multiple command options to fix this problem. I need something basic and simple. Here is my dilemna:

I have had my WordPress website for a few years, but haven’t been on it for at least six months. I have never had any problems. I have not made any changes to the setup or plugins. Everything has been fine. Today I tried to get on my admin page. I get the message:

    This page isn’t working
    redirected you too many times.
    Try clearing your cookies.
    ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

I cleared my cookies as suggested. No change. I cannot get into my admin page at all. The URL line at the top of the page reads like this:

(You get the drift. It goes on and on and on.)

I use Chrome but I also tried to get in using Internet Explorer and got the same result. A friend also tried it from his computer and got the same messages.

Can someone please help me? I don’t know what else to do.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Your site is working fine for me. Did you get this sorted?

(Also, I’m a CE/BCE, which I find less historically ambiguous. Cheers!)

I also have no problem viewing your site.
Try to run cmd “ipconfig /flushdns” on your computer.
I am not sure if this will help you but it worked for me multiple times.

The front end is working fine. The admin page gets too many redirects.
I don’t quite understand the message about cookies, since I’ve never been to your site before.

It could be a hack, or it could be an incomplete auto-update. Maybe?
I would start by logging in to your server control panel and looking at the files to find any that have recent dates (more recent than you last updated something). There was an auto-update today, but it was small. Looking in your page source, I see your site was updated to 4.9.7. I also see you are using Cloudflare which might be something to consider.

Thanks for your advice. Getting to my website is no problem. I can pull that up. But I can’t get to the admin page. Did any of you get that far?

I’ve the same problem with you.
is your site worked now ?
Would you like share with me the way how to fix that problem ?
    Thanks before.

Try to access the admin using this URL https://www.llpeters.com/wp-login.php

Once you login into the admin, reset the permalink and logout from the admin and after that again try to access the admin using this link https://www.llpeters.com/wp-admin and check it this fix your issue or not.

I followed your instructions. (Had to google how to reset permalink). I got into my admin but it wasn’t working. But I had a notice I needed to upgrade to Weaver Xtreme (I am using Weaver), so I did that too.

Now it works. I’m not sure whether I needed the upgrade to fix it, but I thank you very much for your help.

I am glad, your issue has been resolved. If you’re done, please mark your topic as “Resolved”. Thanks.
