Erratic behaviour after browser resize

I’m developing a gallery site for an artist using SlideShow Satellite Premium.
The slideshow behaves as expect until you click on the images to display a larger version, or the browser in minimised and maximised. Once either of these two actions is taken, the slides advance erratically and no longer stick to the 3s per image transition.
Am I missing an obvious configuration? I’ve looked at the behaviour in Chrome and Safari and it’s identical.
