External (and not Internal) clients get the error when visiting the site.

Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset.

    or

    On Firefox:
    Problem loading page
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

    on Chrome:
    This webpage is not available
The connection to wordpress.discovery.com was interrupted.
Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset.

This seems like a firewall/DNS check issue. It works internally and I am working with the network team because we use F5 and feel that it may fail on the F5 level. Since the internal and external ips are different and F5 is involved for external requests.

Interesting to hear if anyone has seen this issue.

    Krishna,
Thanks for the quick reply. In our case the issue was as follows:

    1. The cert expired and thats when the F5 LB started to choke on external requests (not the internal). Internal requests were served by one ip and the external via another ip.

    2. Somehow the CN tied to the site was different than the actual domain name and F5 begin to have issues with that for external requests.

Solution: I regen’d the new cert with the same CN as the name of the domain and restart http. That fixed the issue.
