Hi, on a client’s staging site I get the following error:

PayPal error (10605): An error (10605) occurred while processing your PayPal payment. Please contact the store owner for assistance.

Both the site’s base currency and the client’s primary PayPal currency are in ZAR, which is supported by PayPal. What else could be causing this?

By the way, do you know of a way to create a sandbox account in anything else than USD?

  • @noellesteegs – can you go ahead and create a ticket for this? You can do this by visiting the WooCommerce.com My Account page: https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket/

Please be sure to include login credentials, as this type of issue typically takes a bit of debugging to find the root of the cause.

Include the following in your ticket submission (not in this thread).

Head to **Users > Add New** and use the email [email protected]?for both Username and Email fields. Be sure to set the role to Administrator, then select “Show password”, copy the password, and click “Add New User” as on the screenshot –?https://cld.wthms.co/8coxBJ

Next, for security purposes, use our QuickForget tool (https://quickforget.com) and paste your site login URL and password into “The secret is…” field. Select “Save my secret” to get a URL you can then share with us –?https://cld.wthms.co/PJiw2F Please do not send the password to us directly.

Note that to comply with?GDPR?rules, you need to disclose that you are sharing access rights to third parties like us in your Terms & Conditions. You can find out more about your responsibilities as a store owner under GDPR here:?https://woocommerce.com/posts/the-gdpr-and-you-the-woocommerce-store-owner/

Last, but not least, delete our user account once your interaction with us is done. This helps keep your website safe by limiting the number of users with admin access.

The second question would be a great question for the PayPal support team, as they handle specific account questions.
I was able to find some mention of this stating that the currency for the account is automatically set by the country chosen during setup. I would suggest asking them to be sure, but I hope this helps.

    Thank you,
    Joey

Hey @jricketts4, I am struggling to submit a ticket. It gets stuck on “Submitting support request..”. I tried a few times yesterday and tried again today after a hard refresh, but no luck. What can I do?

    Hi @noellesteegs!

Oh no, were you able to submit a ticket? If you haven’t been able to, please let us know the ticket options you chose, any errors you saw, and which browser and device you tried.

    Thanks,

Hi @dougaitken, unfortunately I am still unable to submit a ticket. I chose “Help with my extensions” and then “Paypal Checkout”. I use Chrome and am on Windows 10. I did not get any errors.

    Here’s a link to a screenshot of what I see: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tHolDMX2uUzLqEEixpPBiZKxiipZP9UG/view?usp=sharing.

    Hey there again!

I’ve created a ticket for you on our end. You can check your email for the intro (there’s not much content in the ticket yet, but now you can respond there with your issue, credentials, etc.)

    (@noellesteegs)

Hey @slash1andy, thanks so much. I appreciate that. I’ll revert back in that ticket soonest.

@noellesteegs Does your issue got resolved or not yet ?

    Thread Starter Noelle Steegs

    (@noellesteegs)

Hi @ahhsan62, I discovered that even though PayPal offers ZAR accounts, its API doesn’t support ZAR payments. See https://developer.paypal.com/docs/api/reference/currency-codes/. That is what was causing the error.

    Thanksfor your response
I’m facing a similar issue, so what you did to handle this problem ?

    Thread Starter Noelle Steegs

    (@noellesteegs)

@ahhsan62 I ended up not using PayPal, but only Payfast.

alright, but there is an option in PayPal business account that in which they claim you can convert any currency to USD or some other currencies that they are offering.
    Had you tried that ?

    Thread Starter Noelle Steegs

    (@noellesteegs)

@ahhsan62 please could you elaborate/link me to that page?

    yes, this one
    https://www.paypal.com/businessmanage/preferences/payments
the first option let you accept other currencies and convert it to USD (or whatever your primary currency is)
