    Hi @mariobernasconi

Have you deleted the page where you are facing 404?

If yes, kindly know that when you delete a page, you need to set proper 410 HTTP status or set a 301 redirect. You can follow How to create a 301 redirect in WordPress

Kindly elaborate if I am not picking up the question correctly.

    Hi @611shabnam
    I didn’t delete any pages.
I deactivated the plugin so I could navigate the site correctly.
if I activate the plugin and try to navigate my site the only response I get is “this page does not exist”.
by updating the hyperlinks from wordpress the problem stops and the site becomes navigable again for just 20 minutes.

    Hi @mariobernasconi

You mentioned “…you deactivated the plugin so I could navigate the site correctly…”. May I know what issues you faced initially that caused you to deactivate Yoast SEO plugin to navigate the site?

Where did you face the 404? Is it a default WordPress post/page or some custom post type?

    Hi?@611shabnam

I find the problems throughout the site. As mentioned in the previous answer, I began to view pages with the words “this page does not exist”.

    Hi @mariobernasconi

As first step, can you kindly confirm your site meets all the plugin requirements?

    If yes, kindly check conflict.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.
